The Government of Romania approved, by agreement no. 616 from 21.04.2004 the National Strategy on Migration. The strategy stipulates the general principles and guidelines for determining Romania’s policy on admission, stay and leave to the national territory by foreigners, labor immigration, policies regarding granting forms of international protection as well as the fight against illegal immigration.
According to the National Strategy on Migration, the main objectives of the Romanian state in terms of the admissions of foreigners are attracting real investors into the national economy and facilitating access at the education system (Romanian language courses, training for non-professional teachers etc).
