Validation experiences of non-formal and informal learning in Italy and Europe
The project for the certification of the credits initiated by the Valle d’Aosta Region has been developed in different phases: 1. Context analysis phase aimed at understanding and tracing topics covered by the project (both at national and European level); 2. Definition phase of the assumptions and guidelines of the device: here it is focussed on learning regardless of the learning context; 3. Phase of banning experimental initiatives: specific areas of experimentation and implementation have been hypothesised; 4. Experimental and system-building phase: initiatives are launched exclusively for initial training and specifically for the paths connected with the fulfilment of the educational obligations.
The experimental project developed between 2002 and 2003, the entire model was strongly centred on the individual, on the possibility, especially for adults, of being part of a training course, which enhances all learning in order to respond to the principles of lifelong and lifewide learning.
Subjects of the project, who have different roles and duties, are the IRSEA Institute (a private non-profit organization) and the recipients are the potential users of any training and professional education path. The process of recognition of credits and validation of learning has been articulated and analysed in 5 phases: 1. Request and start 2. Assessment 3. Evaluation 4. Certification 5. Recognition
